  2. JEHOVAH EL-ASHIYB, THE LORD, MY RESTORER

TEXT: JOEL. 2:25-28. 25 "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. 26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the LORD your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. 27 Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame’.

  4. INTRODUCTION We thank God for our teachings so far, on the manifestation of his names. Last week Sunday, we saw God as Jehovah Rohi, The Lord our Shepherd. Today, by His grace, we are going to see Him AS JEHOVAH EL-ASHYIB, THE LORD OUR RESTORER.

  5. INTRODUCTION • Joe 2:25 "So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

INTRODUCTION • RESTORATION MEANS: • give something back: to return something to its proper owner or place • return something to previous condition: to bring something back to an earlier and better condition • energize somebody: to give somebody new strength or vigour • return somebody to previous position: to return somebody to a previously held rank, office, or position • put something back: to re-establish or put back something that was once but is no longer there.

Jehovah El-Ashiyb, God of Restoration He can restore life to the lifeless or to a dead situation:- • Lazarus - John 11: 39-44 • Naomi - Ru 4:15 "And may he be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.“ • The Dry Bones - Eze 37:5 'Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

Jehovah El-Ashiyb, God of Restoration He can give health to the sick – Jer 30:17 For I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds,' says the LORD, 'Because they called you an outcast saying: "This is Zion; No one seeks her."‘ Mt 8:16 When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, -

Jehovah El-Ashiyb, God of Restoration He is able to restore wealth • Job 42:12 Now the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. • 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. • 16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. • 17 So Job died, old and full of days.

  11. Jehovah El-Ashiyb, God of Restoration • He can restore lost glory – • King Nebbuchadenezar - Dan. 4:29 – 37 • Lost gifts, talents and abilities can be restored

  12. Jehovah El-Ashiyb, God of Restoration • He can restore the Joy of Salvation • David : Ps 51:12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

  13. WHAT OTHER THINGS CAN HE RESTORE • He can restore Joy in place of sorrow • He can give honor and dignity in place of shame and reproach • Our God can give comfort in place of pain and grief. • He can give hope to the hopeless • He can give faith to the faithless • Our God can restore your family, trust, confidence, strength .etc. Lk. 1:19

  14. HOW CAN JEHOVAH EL-ASHIYB WORK FOR YOU You must be born again Repent and confess your sins Be persistent and tenacious in your asking Restitute if necessary Give thanks to Jehovah El- Ashiybfor restoration

  15. CONCLUSION Isa 54:7 "For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with great mercies I will gather you. 8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you," Says the LORD, your Redeemer.
