  4. God’s promise is fulfilledthrough His sovereign choice • God’s choice demonstrates God’s mercy Romans 3:10–12 “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

  12. God’s promise is fulfilledthrough free human choice • Esau chose to sell his birthright Hebrews 12:15–16 See to it... that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.
