The North EastThe History of Catholicism • Jesuits in 17th Century – going to Tibet. • American Southern Baptists in late 1800’s. • Salvatorians from Germany • WWI – Salvatorians asked by British to leave. • Replaced by Jesuits from Calcutta Province. • 1922 – Jesuit leave – Rome give Salesians this territory for their mission. • 1970 – Bishop of Kohima asks for Jesuits.
