  3. Major Concerns of NSPnet • Dissemination of the information on breeder seed production, seed technology research and the seed availability at various centers. • To provide detailed information on each and every important aspect of NSP. • To help the planners and seed industry personnel regarding their information needs for management purposes. INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI - 110012

  4. Objectives • To design and develop a database required for information storage. • To design and develop a user interface for online data entry and updating. • To design and develop reports and queries for information management of National Seed Project. INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI - 110012

  5. Methodology used • Three tier Client-Server Architecture was used. • Used MS-Access at the back end. • ASP, HTML and VBScript were used for User Interface designing and interacting with the database. INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI - 110012

  6. Features of NSPNET • Online Data Management:Online forms are provided to the authorized users at center level for online data entry, updation and deletion. • Online Report Generation:Various Reports can be generated by authorized users for retrieving inf’n on Breeder Seed Prod’n, Seed Technology Research and Latest Seed stock inf’n at various centers. • Static Information Retrieval:This information can be accessed by any visitor to the site. 13. Seed Stock Availability Report INDIAN AGRICULTURAL STATISTICS RESEARCH INSTITUTE, NEW DELHI - 110012

  14. Conclusion • NSPnet provides all relevant information about seed produce, seed technology developed and seed availability to farmers, extension workers and management personnel . • With the centralized database it facilitates a more efficient storage of data than was previously possible. • With the web based property the information dissemination has become easier and broader..
