  3. Retiring Officers (2010-2011) On behalf of the membership we say “THANK YOU” for a job well done! Our progress this year is due to your efforts, working both as individuals and as a group. We’re sure you have learned a lot in the process. • Ceci Cook, President • Patty Steck, Vice President • Mary Miller, CPS, Secretary • Etta Karnaze, Treasurer • Mary Miller, CPS, Director From Left: Etta Patty Ceci Mary

  4. Installation of New Officers, & Director The Installation of Officers of the Johnson County Chapter gives each of us the opportunity to reaffirm our obligation to uphold the ideals and purposes of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. When we joined this association, we agreed to add our time, our energy, and our thoughts to the collective will of other administrative professionals throughout the association, recognizing that only through cooperation and communication can we achieve our goal. As most of you know, I have a passion for all sports and NASCAR falls into that area. NASCAR teams, their drivers, Pit Crew members and Fans are all a part of the success of the sport. Pit Crew members were once the mechanics on the racecar, but most teams now have featured individuals dedicated to pit stops only. Your Pit Job is a daily dedication to our chapter. You work as a team to fabricate and design the racecar to get it ready for the upcoming performance.

  5. Director “Tire Carrier” You are the “Tire Carrier” for our pit crew. You actually have several jobs. You get the tire to the car, so it can be replaced. You clean the windshield for the driver, you also change shields for day to nighttime racing, plus your job is to clear debris from the grill. You may even add tape to the grill to create a front-end down force. It is imperative that you participate positively and proactively in all IAAP functions paving the way for positive and accepting attitudes among all members new & experienced. You will guide & assist the board & membership in their future endeavors. Director: Sharon Taylor, CPS

  6. Treasurer “Gas man” You are the “Gas man” for our team. You fill the car with special gasoline; you may assist the tire changer as well. Many races are won by fuel mileage – it’s your job to get as much gas in the car at each pit stop as possible. Your duties will include the chapters financial obligations of collecting & depositing monthly meetings fees, paying bills & writing checks as authorized by the budget, collect monetary donations for fundraisers and give monthly financial statements to membership. Treasurer: Katy McCourt, CPS/CAP

  7. Secretary “Tire Changer” You are the “Tire Changer” for our team. You change the tires with the air wrench; guide the new tires on to the car. You also check that the fenders are clear from the new tires. You make the necessary adjustments to the rear track bar and/or wedge. You collect the data from meetings and then process it for members to keep them up to date. You are the messenger of our chapter. Your duties include taking minutes at chapter & board meetings and making sure that all the decisions of the chapter are accurately recorded as an essential part of the chapter’s history for all current & future members to read. You will also distribute for membership approval. Secretary: Kimberly Rudolph, CPS

  8. Vice President “Jackman” You are the “Jackman” of our team. You handle the car during pit stops. You jack up the car so tires can be replaced on both sides; you assist the members of your team and signal for the driver to leave the pits. You act on behalf of the President in her absence, provide the list of programs for the year to guide members towards certification/recertification. You provide a future of opportunity. Your duties will include the program chair and being a member of the membership committee. You will seek input for specific presenters to balance the needs of members to meet education expectations. Vice President: Kathy Schmalz

  9. President “Crew Chief” You are the “Crew Chief” of our team. You are the head person who assigns the jobs to help coordinate the pit stops. You train the crew members to stay in good physical & mental shape. You keep in tune with the NASCAR regulations and make sure everyone has the information they need to become successful in the upcoming year. You are on top of the Pit Box with everyone reporting to you and awaiting your decisions/suggestions. Your duties include presiding at meetings, appointing committees and chairmen, promote the mission and programs, motivate and provide leadership and guidance to all members, follow up on details and representing our chapter within the community. You have been given the highest honor as are our Leader. President: Ceci Cook

  10. Members: All You are the “FANS” of our team. You cheer our pit crew & driver to the finish line. You cheer louder as they come around the track, perform a pass of another team, increase track spots with a perfectly performed pit stop. You are an integral part of this organization, like your officers you have special duties and tasks. Your jobs might not be as prominent, but they are as important. We are joined together to accomplish the same goals. Support one another and work together so that our chapter can become stronger and achieve great success.
