Inspiration • To better serve our core partners on-site before, during, and after severe weather, weather-sensitive activities and major incidents • WFO New Orleans pioneered the idea • Converted FEMA Trailer into Severe Weather Emergency Response Vehicle (SWERV) • Provides “focused coordination” at any Incident Command Center where all incident responders are hearing and seeing the information being presented at one time in one location via personal interaction • Provide on-site customized forecasts variables

  3. SWERV Deployments • NCAA Final Four • Navy Week – Air Show • Mardi Gras River Flooding Scenarios and other training exercises Deployed for Hurricane Isaac Large Festival and other Large Public Gatherings

  4. Implementation • We will customize to fit our core partners needs • How we plan to use the MOWU: • Tri-State Fair • Hot Air Balloon Festivals • Community Outreach • HAZMAT Exercises and Incidents • Wildfire Support • Post-Disaster Support • Search-and-Rescue Support • As requested by decision makers and first responders

How Do You Get a Trailer for Free? https://gsaxcess.gov • Talked with New Orleans and Collected Contacts • GSAXcess • Website that maintains records of all Federal Excess and Surplus Personal Property Reported to General Services Administration (GSA) • Account Required for Acquisition Requests
