Hugo Ball (n. 22 de febrero de 1886 - 14 de septiembre de 1927) autor y poeta alemán. Fue uno de las figuras principales del Dadaísmo. • Nació el 22 de febrero de 1886 en Primasens, criado por una familia católica, estudió sociología y filosofía en las universidades de Munich y de Heidelberg (1906-1907). Con el estallido de la Primera Guerra Mundial se una a la armada como voluntario, pero tras la invasión a Belgica se siente desilusionado: "La guerra se basa en un error evidente, los hombres se han confundido con las máquinas".
