  3. Benefits of Engagement • ORH is the organization for recovery housing providers and the emerging state affiliate for the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR).

  4. Benefits of Engagement • ORH serves its members through technical assistance and training, offered in various formats, including: • Group meetings where providers can gather to network and discuss issues related to recovery housing • In-person meetings with individual organizations to provide on-site individual assistance to help members achieve the quality standards. • Webinars and conference calls for updates and learning opportunities • An interactive web-site with resources and links to information

  5. But what is Technical Assistance, exactly?

  6. So, how do we use it? • For technical assistance to be effective, we must be able to learn and apply the information. • Technical assistance should be connected to the Recovery Housing Standards. • Think: What is your level of recovery housing? • Based on your answer, then ask: What are my needs?

  7. Learning • Standards for Recovery Housing Focus on Four Major Areas: • Administration • Services • Residence • Staff

  8. Learning, cont. • Look over the four areas and ask: • What components of the standards do I need to better understand? • What types of technical assistance do I need? • What is the most effective way for me to receive information? • Who from my recovery residence needs to be involved in the learning? • How do I need the assistance to be delivered (i.e. in-person, at a meeting, online, etc.)?
