  5. What about the funding? • As of fall 2014, the state issued a memo sharing that the funds for A+ may be REDUCED for next year by up to 4 credit hours per semester • What this means: You MAY have to pay for up to 4 credits of the total number of credits you take each semester. Ex. SCC costs $95 per credit hour for local students, so it could cost you up to $380 per semester for tuition. • This is a Possibility, not for sure at this time.

  6. A+ 50 HOUR TUTORING REQUIREMENT • All tutoring assignments must be arranged and approved through Mr. Bailey • All tutoring must be school sponsored and supervised by a school official on district premises. • The student must maintain an hour log sheet for all hours to receive credit.

  7. Log Sheets • Include length of tutoring for each date worked • Include signature by tutoring supervisor for each date logged. • Complete in permanent ink • Turn in to Mr. Bailey or Mrs. Lipin in the Guidance Office when completed.

  8. Each tutoring student should sign in on the sign-in sheet provided at each school. This is important, in case you were to lose your tutoring log sheet. • Should an emergency arise and you can not make your assignment that day, you must notify the teacher or supervisor at your tutoring site. • The 50 hour tutoring requirement must be met by January 1st of your senior year in order to be A+ certified. • All students must complete their hours during the semester assigned or face removal from the A+ program.

  9. Responsibilities of Tutor • Work with a positive attitude, be a good listener, and establish a good rapport with your students. • Do not have physical contact with the students. • Remember your role. • Be sensitive to the special needs of all students and respect confidentiality.
