This multi-year program focuses on assessing the air quality implications associated with Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and natural gas interchangeability. The key efforts involve conducting a comprehensive literature review, identifying suitable burners for tests, and developing testing protocols for evaluating emissions. The testing will monitor pollutants such as NOx, CO, ultrafine PM, and air toxics from natural gas and LNG blends. Additionally, the program includes combustion modeling to understand emissions, performance, and safety while evaluating the impacts on both indoor and outdoor air quality. For more information, contact Marla Mueller at the California Energy Commission.
