Community Meeting Agenda Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 Agenda: 1.  Intro (5-10 minutes) 2.  Presentation with Portland Parks & Recreation: Senior Planning, Development and Asset Manager, Kia Selley and Terri Davis, West Service Zone Manager (15 minutes) 3.  Presentation : Portland Public School Rep (15 minutes) 4. Questions/Answers : 30 minutes 5.  Next Steps: What do the children need and how do we make that happen? (45 minutes Interim play spaces/plans Accessing all stakeholders* Organizing for the play structure/park Next Meeting and where to access updates *If you are unable to attend and want to be included in updates, please email mlcptsapresident@gmail.com and we will add you to the contact list.

  5. QUESTIONS In order to get as many questions answered as possible, please write your questions and pass them to the aisle. The question will be read aloud so that everyone can hear what is being asked. If we have more questions than time, we will ask PPS and PP&R if we can send the remainder for them to answer. We can then post the answers on the website.

  6. Next Steps What can we do RIGHT NOW?

  7. Immediate needs Ideas that have been proposed: PP&R fence grassy hill across from structure on Glisan with kids as priority use. Continue Ranger safety patrols. Demo ASAP to allow use of the space and create a safer play space. Salvage specific pieces. Reserve North side of parking lot for kids at all times. No Parking/driving. Connect with Playworks Set up temporary play equipment on the black-top or bricks. NW corner? What? Cost? Repaint blacktop: Basketball, 4-square, etc. Work with teachers now to spend PTSA paddle money for active outdoor play options.

Work with partners to assess best access for playground and play area for all park users Talk to Harper’s Playground Foundation about their process and potential of partnering on an accessible playground Look at what options exist in local and national vendors Design a structure What ideas do you have?
