  1. Interface Level Measurement (Water/Oil) Challenge: • Gravity seperation, crude oil is collected at storage tanks from wells, its allowed to settle so that water will be collected at bottom and oil surface. • The challenge is to depose safely water without draining oil. Environment: • Limitations at installation. • Emulsion separation layer between Water and Oil. Big question about performance Solution: • DC11 Full insulated Capacitive probe with carefully calculated length + FMC671z Product group: Level Industry: Oil & Gas Installed at: Saudi Aramco Benefit: Reliable safe and inexpensive interface switching.

  2. Interface Level Measurement (Water/Oil) • Customer: Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) • World largest Oil producer, (currently 12.5 MMBPD) • At gravity separation, disposing water without draining oil can be difficult to control. Saudi Aramco was looking for a solution to drain water until a point where all water has been drained and it is now only oil is at bottom. They requires a valve to switch off once all the water was drained. • Slight problem with calibration, we proposed an exact length cylinder as the probe to be used externally for calibration. • Performing since May 2003  • Sold 22 units with potential 60 (order expected within weeks)
