Review of Events: June 24 – June 28 • Monday June 24, 3-6P CPT: Markets Release installed successfully • Installing the release turned on the creation of test data that overwrote MP submitted data for the next 7 days • Tuesday June 25: Data Reset for Day-Ahead and Real-Time • MPs required to re-submit bids and resource offers • Wednesday June 26 • SPP worked with MPs that requested assistance to copy data forward Gary Cate

Unstructured Testing Tips Types of Items MPs Should Test: • DA Market • Self commit during an operating day • Self commit resources in the DA Market based on the MPs EIS resource plan (especially when settlements is available to see the interaction between DA Market and Real Time) • Vary startup & no load costs on a resource to see the impact on clearing • Vary resource prices to see impact on clearing • Vary offer curve prices and slope to see impact on clearing • Submit price sensitive demand bids commensurate with unit offer prices and overall P&L • Submit virtual bids/offers at different pnodes, utilizing tiered offers • Vary different commitment parameters and analyze results • Max Daily Energy, Max Daily Starts, etc. • Change Offers for Reserve Products • Price • Status Alan Adams
Unstructured Testing Tips Types of Items MPs Should Test: • RUC • Vary different commitment parameters and analyze results • Max Daily Energy, Max Daily Starts, Etc • Change Commitment Status • Reliability, Market, Outage, Self • RT Market • Change resource offers for limits, ramp rates during the day to observe the effects on defects • Try various offers that include fixed and market offers • Vary reserve offers and ramp rates on different resources to see the effects on clearing • Observe behavior of units when submitting different unit status’ between the markets (ex: DA Market = Self, RT Market = Market) Alan Adams
Unstructured Testing Tips Types of Items MPs Should Test: • RTGEN • Integration with RTGEN startup and shutdown sequence – managing control mode • 1. Control mode of 0 when offline • 2. Control mode of 3 when ramping to min • 3. Control mode of 1 or 2 when on and dispatchable • 4. Reverse this when coming offline • Change control modes for resources to see the effects on dispatch • i.e. set control mode to 0 for a resource that is online, set control mode to 1 for a resource that is clearing regulation, etc.) Alan Adams

13.0 – Demand Response • Look-Ahead July 8-14: • 13.0 – Demand Response on Thursday July 11 (Only Relevant to 1 MP) 1.1 Scenario Description • Verify functionality specific to DDRs • DDRs and BDRS achieve their response through reduction of the effective load. 1.2 Expected Results • DDR Dispatch and Contingency Reserve Clearing • DDR Regulation • Demand Response Load (DRL) • Submitted Option DDRs submit real-time production MW 2.0 MP Activities • Verify DDRs have valid offer data for all products. • Ensure required real-time measurements are defined and being submitted Submit hourly DRL forecasts when required • Verify that Dispatch Instructions are received via XML Alan Adams

Proposed Restructure: Overview • SMT Call would be held once per week on Fridays 9-10:30A (as of 7/12) • Look-Ahead: in-depth review of upcoming scenarios • Discussion of Known Issues and Releases • Results: presentation of Analysis one week in arrears • Only statistics relevant to the Analysis would be presented • Statistics for Operating Days posted daily, by EOD the day following the OD • Ex: Statistics for July 2 OD will be posted by EOD July 3 • Analysis of ODs posted by EOD on the following Tuesday • Ex: Analysis of July 2 & July 3 ODs will be posted by EOD Tues, July 9 • Reasons for Restructure: • Gives SPP more time to provide quality Analysis • Gives MPs more time to review Data & Analysis prior to discussion • Opportunity to improve quality of MP questions during weekly calls • Creates a more efficient & convenient meeting schedule (one call per week) Ginny Watson
