  2. Attendees at the 2008 ASTD Conference were invited to participate in a brief, online, real-time survey. The survey asked attendees their opinions on timely talent management issues as: Future critical leadership skills Trends affecting leadership Organizational talent management efforts Generational differences 320 individuals participated in the survey. The results of the survey are summarized in this report. 2008 ASTD Conference

  3. ASTD attendees say these are the top skills they need to develop to be an effective leader in the future: N= 320

  4. ASTD attendees report their organizations are facing changing and unique challenges… N= 320

  5. ASTD attendees feel their organizations are ill-prepared to face these challenges… N= 320

  6. While ASTD attendees believe their organizations are dedicated to talent management, much improvement needs to be made in the actual efforts. N= 320
