Story Of Sigiriya • A long time ago a king called Dathusena ruled in Anuradapura.He had two sons named Moggallana and Kashyapa.Kasyapa was younger than Moggallana but he wanted to become king first.So he killed his father and became king.Moggallana was very veryangry.He wanted to kill Kasyapa and become king.Sokasyaparan away from Anuradapura and build a beautiful palace on the top of a rock.Sothat nobody no body could catch him or kill him.This rock was called Sigiriya.He built many beautiful buildings on Sigiriya and painted beautiful pictures on the sides of the rock.Even now we can see some of the pictures and some ruins of the buildings.

  5. Entrance • The entrance to this rock is shaped like the mouth of a lion .Lion in Sinhala Language- SINHA • Mouth in sinhalaLanguage is- GIRI Therefore Sinha -Giribecame Sigiriya
