This message explores the universal need for rest and contrasts religious practices with the deeper rest found in Jesus. Based on Mark 2:23-28, it emphasizes that rest is not earned through rules but granted as a gift. Through the example of King David and Jesus’ declaration that the Sabbath was made for man, we learn that to truly rest, one must embrace the rest that Jesus offers. This teaching encourages believers to prioritize genuine rest over mere religious observance, advocating for a balanced life that embraces God's intentions for both work and rest.

The Source of Real Rest Jesus says 2 Things … • Look at Old King David (v.25-26) • Look at Me… (v.27-28) “And he said to them, ‘The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.’” (Mark2:27-28) • Jesus does not destroy the Sabbath ....He says He Is the Sabbath!
