  1. Barry Sanders Barry Sanders is a football player. He played for the Detroit Lions. His college team was Oklahoma University. His son is in college. His son went to Detroit Country Day school and his son was the starting running back. Now his son plays for Stanford. Barry Sanders was number 20.

What made Barry Sanders famous? • Barry Sanders was one of the best players the Detroit Lions have ever had. • He was the best running back in history except for his friend Walter Payton • His total yards in his whole NFL career were 10,172 total yards. • He helped the Lions make several come backs in a lot of games. • He helped the Lions go to the playoffs even though they lost. • Barry Sanders retired before he could break his friend, Walter Payton’s record.

  3. Brief time line • Barry Sanders helped the Lions be a better team in 1987as a free agent. No one had as good of a year as Barry had in 1988. Sanders did not sign officially with the Lions until 1990. In 1993 Barry Sanders helped the Lions go to their first play offs in history. In 1995 he said he would make a Lions win his priority. He did exactly that.
