  3. Part IV: Specific Actions You Will Take Specific Actions You Will Take Below, summarize (in 1-2 paragraphs) the specific actions you will take to accomplish your objectives and goals, including from planning your service, publicizing your project, taking action, and following up with your Community Issue and We Response Organization. *If you are not spending 25-30 minutes on this section, you are not putting enough thought, effort, and detail in this section.

  4. Example One Topic- Combating Hunger in SPF We will first research what are the best types of food in terms of healthy eating and foods that provide energy. We are then going to look through weekly circulars and clip coupons that we can use to give to the foodbank for those items. Finally, we are going to work at the soup kitchen. After performing that service we want to advertise to our peers that they should perform the service themselves and start a volunteer pledge for the local food pantries and soup kitchens...

  5. Example Two Topic- Students with Intellectual Disabilities The specific actions we are going to take are to help the children with an intellectual disability nearby. First, we will contact the Newmark Schools about working with their children and borrowing a field or the gym to hold a practice. We will also contact the Arc of Union County to see if we are capable of volunteering with them at any of their organized happenings. Then, we will research the positives of children being active around the United States. We will collect gently used soccer and volleyball equipment for the children such as shin guards, cleats, and sneakers.. Once we schedule practices at the Newmark Schools, Ally will email a Red Bulls player about coming to at least one of the practices and possibly the game. Since the Red Bulls did not respond, Ally contacted William Dong, a family friend of Ally’s who knows a Red Bulls player.

  6. Example Two Topic- Students with Intellectual Disabilities We will create a form for the children to fill out stating how much physical activity they do each week. We will research about staying hydrated, which we will inform the children about during practices. Then, we will try to meet with the children and go to one of their schools to borrow a gym. The practices were held during their gym class period. We will research different drills possible for each of the different skills. At the school we will teach the children different soccer skills such as passing, trapping, dribbling, shooting, and work on different drills with them. For kids who would prefer volleyball instead of soccer, we will teach different volleyball skills like serving and spiking. Each week we will work on a different one. In the end we will host an actual game where they will get to showcase everything they have learned over the course of the month. We also created a scrapbook of pictures of all the children during the practices and games.

  7. Homework Finish Specific Actions and Materials. For Materials- List everything you need in order to perform all actions and anything you may anticipate needing. Address all comments left by Mr. Litz
