  2. What do I already know? • Create a brainstorm about what you already know about WWI And complete the below sentence • When I think of war, I think of.......

  3. Each year Australians observe one minute silence in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts • What wars do you know of?

  4. Look carefully at the following slides • The pictures were taken from Gallipoli, Turkey. • Take note of the soldiers ages • Their names • Their religions • The inscriptions on their graves

  5. A hero? • How would you describe a hero? • What makes/defines a hero? • Who is your hero and why?

  6. Look carefully at the following slides • What type of person do you think they were? • How does it make you feel when you see names of fallen soldiers? • Think about the similarities between you and the soldiers. What might they be?

  7. Why do you think it is important to remember and learn about war?

  8. They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old; • Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. • At the going down of the sun and in the morning • We will remember them.
