MoFDM Proposed Research Subjects Proposed 8 Research subjects: • Developing mechanism for assessing/monitoring private food grain stock in the country • Desirability and feasibility of reintroducing food stamp system for low/fixed income families • Feasibility of Public-private partnership in food grain procurement and storage • Effective use of GIS for early warning purposes and assessment of crop production • Reviewing the present food grain specification and developing alternatives set of specification based on grain quality • Assessing crop wise marketable surplus and probable marketing trend and timing • Developing a scientific mechanism for determining “stock-in transit” in food grain handling by the DG-Food • Review of legal framework of food procurement an distribution and recommendations for more effective system needed to bolster public procurement. Will be conducted hiring internal or external expert / TAT members
Second Call for Proposals • Published in 1- English and 1- Bangla Newspaper, sent letters, website etc. • Closed on June 12, 2008 • Received 259 Proposals (329 in 2007) • 125 PR (177 in 2007) and 108 CF (95 in 2007) and 26 Unclassified (57 in 2007) • Administrative Screening is going on
