  2. Introduction Solar energy systems come in different types and configurations. You can choose any of these on the basis of your requirements, the building on which you will install your solar system. Let’s have a look at various types of them.

  3. Ground mounted solar panel system Ground mounted solar panel systems are installed on the ground. The frame is fixed on the ground and the panels are installed on the frame. These are suitable for sites with large open ground on which sunlight stays for long hours during the day.

  4. 2. Roof-top solar panel systems As the name suggests, these solar systems are installed on the roof of the buildings. This is a feasible option for you if you don’t have a large enough ground or your ground area doesn’t receive sunlight directly on it. You need to see whether the roof of the building is easily approachable or not for maintenance of the system.

  5. 3. Grid-tied solar panel systems Grid-tied solar systems are connected to the main grid station. It allows you to purchase the energy if you need more energy than your solar system, and you can also sell the energy to the grid if you are producing it in excess.

The power that you need is produced by your solar energy system and you don’t have the option of selling it to grid station or buy energy from it. It’s self sufficient for your home. Those who prefer the independence of their solar system can go for this type.

  7. 5. Solar ready Solar ready systems are the ones that are installed at the time of construction of a building or a site. The building that has a built in solar panel system is called solar ready. In these systems there is no need to install anything after the construction is complete. The building design is made according to where and what type of solar energy system will be installed in it.
