Who is a Leader? • My Hypothesis – Everyone is a Leader • Everyone has potential to be a leader • Examples – Are Everywhere – Look/Learn • Movies: Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock • Home • Your wife/spouse • Your son/daughter • The PTA President • Celebration Committee Chair – Nancy • Soccer Coach – Basketball Coach • MANY MORE

What Makes A Good Leader • ORG CORE VALUES = YOUR CORE VALUES • Live them 24/7, On and Off Duty • Passion = Embrace Vision, Mission, Goals • Continually Stoke The Fire • Communicate = Transfer Your Passion = Inspire • THE WHY • Positive • Expose yourself = Be Out There • Never Satisfied = “Hot Wash Mentality” = “Get R Done” (Larry the Cable Guy) • Success Driven = Execution • Define Success – Communicate as related to THE WHY • Improvement Driven • Embrace Change = Rise To The Challenges • Focused on Passion • Positive • Fortitude/Courage • Will Not compromise Core Values/Personal Values • Right Path verses Easy Path • FOCUS ON TEAMING and YOUR TEAM’s HEALTH • Collectively • Individually • Are there any parasites?

Good Leaders Have Responsibilities • YOU and Politicians/Pro-Athletes/Military/Police/Government Employees • Held to Higher Standards • Do Not Whine – Live Up to the Higher Standards • Treat Everyone, Everything Including Yourself with Respect • Live Your Core Values - DO NOT Compromise Your Core Values • You Do Not Have to Respect Someone to Treat Them with Respect • Mentor = Look for Mentoring Moments • Everyday, Everywhere - ANYONE • Extremely Rewarding for YOU • Recognize and Reward – Frequency More Important Than Size • Often • Teamwork, Individuals • Impressions are Everything • First, Last and Everything in Between • Appearance • Attitude • Fitness • Golden Rule: “If you cannot say anything nice do not say it at all.” People Are Listening • Sporting events, dinner parties, picnics • Briefings – No Blackberry, No sidebars
