  3. When is RID Generated? • When an eligible sponsored account has F&A postings • Only applicable to sponsored accounts with: • Full F&A recovery • Sponsored-limited F&A rates • Sponsored accounts that do not generate RID • Internal Waiver • Exception – OKED use only • 0% F&A rates • RID transfers post weekly & close of each month

  4. RID Funding Methods Auto Funding Year-End Reconciliation • End of each week • Close of each month • ½ of RID earned • Posts in August or September of following fiscal year • Manual process done by OKED Finance • Second ½ of RID earned • Reconciles amount paid • Accounts for incorrect transfers and allocation changes

  5. How are RID Funds Allocated? • Allocation based on information entered in the ORSPA 300B (“Blue Sheet”) • P.I. allocation • Department & College affiliation • Center affiliation (if any) • Allocation information on the 300B is entered into COEUS • See RSP 106 – “Allocation of Recognition, Research Incentive Distribution, and Investigator Incentive Awards”

(cont.) • Allocates funds by P.I. first • Allocations with no center affiliation • 20% of F&A recovered to college • College handles further distributions • To department • To P.I. • Allocations with center affiliation • 16% of F&A recovered to college • 4% (20% of 20%) of F&A recovered to center

  7. How are RID Funds Allocated? 9. RID Funding Process

  10. Setting up a RID Account • Center must be approved by the Provost’s Office. • Dean of the College and OKED together must indicate the Center is allowed to have a RID account. • Note: Not all Centers receive RID. Circumstances vary, but sometimes a Dean may want a Center set up in COEUS for recognition purposes only. • Center must set up an HR Department Code if one does not already exist. • Center financial manager to request a RID account to be set up by Financial Services. All RID accounts must have a RID fund number. • 5490 – Tempe • 5491 – West • 5492 – Poly • 5493 - Downtown • In COEUS, Department has to be updated for Center designation and percentage in Flexible Attributes of the Unit Hierarchy. Send an email to Daniel Tyrrell to input the new HR Department Code and/or RID account for the Center.

  11. Miscellaneous RID Information • Monthly RID reports currently come from OKED Finance • RID reports to come to Dashboard and/or Web Reports……later • Issues with monthly RID reports have been corrected • RID-related questions? • Email ovprea.rid@asu.edu
