  2. Remember how we've written a possible 'unsend' feature in an article before? Well, TechCrunch has just recently reported that Facebook is starting to roll out this 'unsend' feature to Messengers in the countries of Bolivia, Colombia, Lithuania, and Poland. This update is available in both iOS and Android versions of the app. Facebook mentioned that the option took some time to work on, but now they've managed to enable users to remove messages that they've sent within a 10-minute timeframe after it's posting. As TechCrunch explains,

  3. "Facebook settled on the ability to let you remove any kind of message - including text, group chats, photos, videos, links, and more - within ten minutes of sending. You can still delete any message on just your side of the conversation, but only messages you sent can be removed from their recipients. You can’t delete from someone else what they sent you."

  4. If a user wishes to delete a message, if they tap and hold it within the first ten minutes after its sending, two options will pop up: 'Remove for Everyone' and 'Remove for You'. Choosing the latter will remove the message from your account but will remain on the recipients', but choosing the former will erase the data from both parties. However, keep in mind that users cannot just merely send whatever they want and delete without any recourse; Facebook will still retain any deleted message for a time in case someone reports it. According to Facebook, the current delete function is primarily used to remove mistakes, and so a ten-minute window makes sense. That gives Facebook's users more control over their Messenger interactions because of the ability to avoid clumsy errors. The feature is still in its early days of testing, but users in other parts of the world can now eagerly anticipate the feature that they've wished for.
