  2. AUSTRALIA Australia is the biggest island and the smallest continent in the world.

  3. Indian Ocean Pacific Ocean Australia is the only country in the world which occupies a whole continent and some islands around it. It lies between the Indian and the Pacific Oceans.

  4. The climate in Australia is varied from tropical in the north to temperate in the south-east. Australia is situated in the southern hemisphere. That is why it has summer when we have winter.

  5. Today Australia is an independent federative state consisting of 6 states and 2 territories. the State of New South Wales with its capital in Sydney, the State of Victoria with its capital in Melbourne, the State of Queenland with its capital in Brisbane, the State of Western Australia with its capital in Perth, the State of Tasmania with its capital in Hobart, Australian Capital Territory with its Federal Capital in Canberra, and Northern Territory with its capital in Darwin. • It is a member of the Commonwealth headed by the British Queen.

  6. It is a large country, but its population is only about 18 million people. Only 18 million people There are «original people» why lived here long ago but most of population came to Australia from Britain, Ireland, and other countries years ago.

  7. The capital of Australia is Canberra. And in the Australia there are many other big cites such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, etc.

  8. English is the official language in Australia. But English spoken in Australia is a bit different from British English and American English.

  9. AustraliaAnimalsPark and Zoo • The Australia Zoo is very popular and one of most visited zoo of Australia. Nowadays the Australia Zoo maintains over one thousand animals and over five hundred staffs.

  10. There are many animals in the zoo as koalas, snakes, Tasmanian devils, crocodiles, tigers, elephants, cheetahs and a large variety of birds and butterfly.

  11. Australians love to play and watch sports. In 1956 the Olimpic Games were held in Melbourne. In the year 2000 Australia hosted the Olimpics in Sydney.
