  2. History • 1869 – independent school, grades 1 - 12 • 1967 – joined Marshall County schools • Benton High School until 1975 • Benton Junior High School, grades 7-9 • Benton Middle School in 1988, grades 6-8 Benton Indians Benton Marshals

Assemblies • BMS has one CAP assembly each month. • Students who have shown excellent character, achievement, and pride are eligible to win prizes. • All the CAP assemblies have entertainment, such as: • Deal or No Deal • Hula-Hoop Contest • Talent Show • Skits • Guest speakers • Faculty Dodge Ball • Olympic Relay • Red Ribbon Program • Red Line Racing
