  1. Tennis Court Oath Tennis Court was an oath signed by the majority of COMMENERS* to demonstrate to King Louis XVI that they did not want an absolute monarchy. It is called the tennis court oath because the doors to get into the place of vote was locked. Which made them go to the tennis court that was nearby.
