  1. Jesus--the Son of God Mt 17,21; Mk 8-12;14; Lk 9,22; Jn 13-19 Chapter 25

  2. Mark 8:27–29 (NIV) 27 Jesus and his disciples went on to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” 28 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets.” 29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” The Story page 353.

  3. Your eternal destiny is determined by how you answer the question: Who is Jesus? Who do you say that Jesus is?

  4. Mark 8:29 (NIV) 29 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”

  5. Jesus claimed to be so much more than just a good man and just a wise teacher.

  6. About Jesus, “you can say that either He was a liar, He was a lunatic, or He was the Lord. But a good man? There’s not a choice for that, because a person who claimed to be God’s Son could never be just ‘a good man.’ He would have to be a liar, or else He would have to be totally crazy; or else He had to be who He said He was.” -- C.S. Lewis

  7. Who do YOU say Jesus is?

  8. Matthew 16:13 (NIV) 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

  9. Caesarea Philippi

  10. Matthew 16:15–16 (NIV) 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

  11. Daniel 7:13–14 (NIV) 13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.

  12. Daniel 7:14 (NIV) 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

  13. Mark 9:9–10 (NIV) 9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. 10 They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what “rising from the dead” meant. Page 354 of The Story

  14. Mark 9:31–32 (NIV) He said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men. They will kill him, and after three days he will rise.” 32 But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. Page 355 of The Story

  15. John 11:4 (NIV) 4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” Page 358 of The Story

  16. John 11:17 (NIV) 17 On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days. Page 359 of The Story

  17. John 11:21 (NIV) 21 “Lord,” Martha said to Jesus, “if you had been here, my brother would not have died. Page 359 of The Story, middle of the page.

  18. John 11:23 (NIV) 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”

  19. John 11:24 (NIV) 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

  20. John 11:25–26 (NIV) 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

  21. Do you believe that whoever believes in Jesus, that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life will never die?

  22. John 11:27 (NIV) 27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

  23. John 11:41–42 (NIV) 41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” Page 360 of The Story

  24. John 11:43–44 (NIV) 43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

  25. John 11:45 (NIV) 45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him.

  26. John 8:12 (NIV) 12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Page 357 of The Story

  27. John 8:24 (NIV) 24 I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” Page 357 of The Story

  28. Mark 8:38 (NIV) 38 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” Page 354 of The Story

  29. Believe what is written about Jesus is true. That he is the Great I AM, that he is the Son of God, that he did conquer death. And you will be saved.
