  1. JoinIndia NetSolutions Pvt. Ltd. Welcomes You

  2. What is JoinIndia? • Is an International Company offices around the world. • Specializes in Internet Solutions • Formed in 1998 • This is a venture of JoinIndia Technological Solutions Ltd. • JoinIndia Technological Solutions Ltd. Is having it’s NOC (Network Operating Centre) in USA.

  3. Achievements of JINSPL

  4. What is Wi-Fi Wireless Fidelity is the most common Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology in the world today. Wi – Fi services are available mostly in public areas, where people on the move can access the Internet. The Wi-Fi Alliance (formerly WECA) is the global Wi-Fi organization that created the Wi-Fi Brand.

  5. Technology? The Wi – Fi family is made up of • 802.11a • 802.11b • 802.11g

  6. Technology? [Contd..] * Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing ^Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum

  7. Why Wi-Fi? Wi – Fi is freedom: Wireless Fidelity or Wi – Fi is freedom; it allows you to connect to the Internet from your couch at home, a hotel room or a conference room without any wires. Wi – Fi enabled computers, send and receive data anywhere within the range of the access point or controller. Wi – Fi connects you anywhere: Connect to your office network from a coffee shop, airport; check important mails from the luxury of your home; work on important corporate presentation at the mall; All this without a wired network, that’s Wi – Fi.

  8. Who Needs Wi-Fi? • Coffee bars / Restaurants • Hotels • Resorts • Educational Institutions • Commercial complexes • Airport / Railway • Corporate / Enterprise Sector

  9. How it Works?

  10. Features of Wi-Fi • Security • Mobility • Convenience • Reliability • Market Potential

  11. Features - Security In Wi-Fi technology we use VLAN per node. So every user is a dedicated user on the Internet. Point 2 Point connected from our Server. We have Hardware Firewall / Antivirus Installed on our Network which protects your PC from any Incident. All Traffic Passing via our Network is Fully Secure.

  12. Features – Security [Contd..] • Some advanced Security Procedures: • Firewalls: Firewalls can make your network invisible to the Internet, and they can block unauthorized and unwanted users from accessing your files and systems. They monitor inflow and outflow of data in all environments, most popularly used in an Enterprise scenario. They can be set to intercept, analyze and stop a wide range of Internet intruders and hackers.

  13. Features –Security [Contd..] • Media Access Control (MAC) Filtering: Under 802.11b standard, every Wi – Fi radio has its unique MAC number allocated by the manufacturer. To increase the wireless network security, program a Wi – Fi access point to accept only certain MAC addresses and filter out the others. The MAC control table acts as a call – blocking in a telephone.

  14. Features –Security [Contd..] • RADIUS Authentication and Authorization: Remote Access Dial – Up User Service (RADIUS) is another standard technology that is use by major corporate companies to protect their wireless networks. RADIUS is a username and password scheme that allows only approved users to access the network. RADIUS can be set up to provide different access levels or classes of access.

  15. Features –Security [Contd..] • Wi – Fi gateways and access points provide a built-in firewall capability; But even if they don’t, most Wi – Fi gateways include a NAT routing capability that will act as a basic firewall.

  16. Features –Security [Contd..] • Encryption: Encryption techniques use special technologies to scramble transmissions on one end and then unscramble them on the other. Other techniques use special keys or codes which enable the computers to talk to each other.

  17. Features - Mobility You can carry your connection with you Any Where & Every Where Even in your CAR, Swimming Pool, Lou or…!

  18. Features - Convenience You have Full Convenience over your connection to upgrade / downgrade bandwidth or Request Bandwidth on Demand at any time 24/7 for specific time.

  19. Features - Reliability Cable Connection is Very Un-Reliable mode of connectivity, the signals are transmitted over a Coaxial / UTP cable using Switches to Re-Transmitted data on every 100 mt. of cable laid. Power is also carried with the Data Cable due to which Transmission Loss are Very High and You PC is always on Live Wire due to electric wire.

  20. Features - Market Potential? • The Asia – Pacific region experienced the most dramatic spread of wireless local area hotspots anywhere in the world in 2003, seeing a more than tenfold increase over 2002. The Asia – Pacific hotspot numbers grew from 1,953 in 2002 to 25,000 in 2003. • Korea Telecom leads the number game with around 10,000 hotspots in its home market, accounting for more than one third of all hotspots worldwide. The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) founded by Korea Telecom, Telstra, Maxis and China Netcom is operating more than 13,000 hotspots amongst them.

  21. Features-Market Potential?[Contd..] • The worldwide hotspot market is estimated to reach nearly 190,000 number of hotspots by 2007 as compared to 49,700 number of hotspots in 2003. The Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) for the wireless hotspot market for the past years has been at 70% and is expected to grow at the same rate over the next 4 – 5 years. • The Indian contribution to the hotspot market is estimated to be 1,000 by 2004 and growing rapidly to 10,000 in number by 2007.

  22. Summing Up the Features Using Wi-Fi you can Surf, Download on Internet, Watch Movies, Full Motion Video Streaming, International Calling on VOIP. Faster…Secure…Reliable….Network…. JoinIndia Networks …. FREEDOM from Wires … Connecting Networks…..
