Purpose of this Session • Understand how teachers will implement CCSS-aligned curriculum instruction as embedded in the NY ELA curriculum modules for students with skills deficits. • Reflect on the kinds of coaching, feedback and professional development that will support effective implementation for teachers. • Review the evidence guide to identify areas of instructional change that principals should use. What did we just hear? • Using the World Café Protocol, discuss the implications of new knowledge from the session- “Support for Students with Diverse Learning Needs.” Focus on the following questions: • What did I hear during the session that was a new idea or concept that I want to share with teachers in my school? • What did I learn from the session that will provide a focus for professional development for my ELA teachers (or all teachers)? • What questions do I have after attending the session that will deepen my understanding of CCSS-aligned instruction for students with skill deficits?
