Mobile Telemetry Digital Home allows users to have full access to and control of home appliances and electronics through a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO mobile device – regardless of time and location. • Service: Digital Home • Service Provider: SKT • Market: South Korea • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: June 2005 • A central Digital Home hub integrates various home appliances and electronics, such as lighting, gas, air-conditioning and heating settings, closed caption television (CCTV) for home monitoring and intrusion detection, personal computers, TVs, digital video recorders, and intercoms within the subscriber’s home. Users can do everything from streaming high-quality audio and video digital media throughout the home and to other mobile devices, to tracking the location of family members and looking after and feeding pets while on the move away from the home!

Lifestyle Mobile Sommelier helps subscribers choose between wines while shopping • Service: Mobile Sommelier • Service Provider: KT Freetel • Market: South Korea • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: April 2005 • The Mobile Sommelier service provides information and metrics on selected wines and informs the user of where and when the wine was produced, what type of grape was used, etc., and provides examples of meals that go well with the wine. Updates on wine-related events are also available. UPC barcodes and ‘hot codes’ on the wine bottles are used to identify the wine. The user can either photograph the codes or enter them via the keypad on a CDMA2000 1xE-DO mobile device.

Audio/Music Download EZ Chaku-Uta Full®allows an entire song to be downloaded over-the-air on a CDMA2000 1xEV-Do device -- at any time, anywhere. • Service: EZ Chaku-Uta Full • Service Provider: KDDI • Country: Japan • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: October 2005 • The EZ Chaku-Uta Full service offers a selection of over 110,000 CD-quality (MP3, AAC, AAC+) songs and realtones from more than 17 record labels, accessible from more than 70 websites – Chaku-Uta Full menus. As of May 2006, EZ Chaku-Uta Full downloads had exceeded 50 million (Source: KDDI Press Release 5/25/06). • More than 5 million music downloads to mobile phones are sold every day in Japan. Up to 99.8% of the music downloads are to mobile phones and 0.2% are to PCs and portable MP3 players. Mobile music sales in Japan has exceeded US$1 billion per year (Source: Eurotechnology, Mobile Music Japan newsletter, 06 Feb 2006).

Video Streaming Jalur Pantura allows subscribers to check traffic conditions on various roads in Jakarta by streaming “live” video to their 1xEV-DO mobile device -- anytime, anywhere • Service: Jalur Pantura • Service Provider: Mobile 8 • Market: Indonesia • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: May 2006 • The Jalur Panturaservice provides users with real-time access to video images of the traffic conditions existing at various locations within the city of Jakarta. Charges for the service are based on the use of the video data-access at a rate per kilobyte streamed.

Blogging Amp’d Live Messaging & Blogs allows users to post their comments on existing topics and introduce new topics for discussion. • Service: Amp’d Live Messaging and Blogs • Service Provider: Amp’d Mobile • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: January 2006 • Users can connect with the blogs of other users and communities as well as read and share comments from across the community.

Video Streaming and Download Reliance Mobile TV provides “live” television and allows the user to download various video clips to their CDMA2000 1X mobile device. • Service: Mobile TV • Service Provider: Reliance Communications • Market: India • Technology: CDMA2000 1X • Introduced: January 2006 • TheReliance Mobile TVservice enables the user to download live video from a variety of Indian news channels such as TIMES NOW, AajTak, IndiaTV, CNBC and NDTV 24x7. The service also allows the user to view live streaming video from two of the above providers – AajTak Online and NDTV Online.

Video Messaging • Service: Konquer • Service Provider: Tata Teleservices • Market: India • Technology: CDMA2000 1X • Introduced: January 2003 • Konquer Video Messaging enables the user to capture, store and send short video clips. It provides the user with the ability to shoot and store videos on their CDMA2000 1X mobile device. High-quality videos can then be sent via multimedia messaging (MMS) or e-mail.

Mobile Banking and Commerce Jianxing Handset Bank is a mobile banking service that allows users to perform a variety of banking and financial transactions from their CDMA2000 1X device. • Service: Jianxing Handset Bank • Service Provider: China Unicom • Market: China • Technology: CDMA2000 1X • Introduced: July 2003 • The Jianxing Handset Bank allows users to conduct banking and financial transactions such as account transfers, money wiring, foreign exchange, payment, etc. It is one of the many services offered within China Unicom’s Ui-Magic application download service.

Mobile Transactions EZ Felica allows subscribers to make e-payments, pick-up tickets, board airlines, enter their homes and even sign-in at karaoke bars, all with a tap of their 1xEV-DO handset • Service: EZ Felica • Service Provider: KDDI • Market: Japan • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: September 2005 • EZ Felicaenabled phones can directly download and store monetary value (prepaid money), display account balances and usage history, authenticate a person’s identification or membership, purchase products at a point of sale, execute electronic ticketing, and collect online credit and loyalty points/awards.

Location-Based Lifestyle and Public Safety The i-Kids Service helps parents protect the safety of their children through a Global Position Service (GPS) and 1xEV-DO device • Service: i-Kids • Service Provider: SKT • Market: South Korea • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: May 2005 • With the i-Kids service, users are able to identify their children's location and their movements. It also provides a 'Safety Zone' service that allows the user to set up a given area for the child to stay within and provides a warning message if the child leaves the safety zone. The tracker can also be applied to any moving object, e.g., pets or valuable luggage.

Social Networking • Service: MySpace • Service Provider: Helio • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: February 2006 • Mobile MySpace allows users to post bulletins with personal photos and videos directly from their Helio CDMA2000 1xEV-DO devices. Users can also view friends’ pages, post comments, view blogs, and add new friends at anytime, anywhere. It helps users catch up with their MySpace action.

Music and Ringtones • Service: Verizon Song IDentity • Service Provider: Verizon Wireless • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1X/1xEV-DO • Introduced: May 2005 • Verizon Song IDentityallows subscribers to record a few seconds of any song into their CDMA2000 phone, and within moments they'll see the artist, title, and album appear. • In addition to song identification, Song Identity allows users to receive emails that link them to relevant ringtones, CDs, and more. The music recognition service has a database of over 2 million songs across all genres of music. Whether the user is in a club, at home or listening to the car radio, Song IDentity is able to answer most all musical questions.

Location-Based Lifestyle Bones In Motion offers users an effortless way to wirelessly monitor, measure and motivate users toward their fitness goals using a GPS-enabled 1xEV-DO mobile device. • Service: Bones in Motion • Service Provider: Sprint Nextel • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: February 2006 • Key features of the Bones in Motion application include the ability to record time, distance, speed, location and calories burned while engaging in outdoor activities; view activity summary, maps (street/topographical/satellite) and speed/elevation charts on a phone; upload to personal online journal to view and share with others; and identify where others run, cycle or walk. Bones in Motion won the NAVTEQ LBS Global Challenge in 2005.

Location-Based Lifestyle & Public Safety ChaperoneSMis a family tracking service designed to help parents locate their children • Service: Chaperone • Service Provider: Verizon Wireless • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: June 2006 • There are two components within the Chaperone service: • Child Locator:Helps parents locate children who are outfitted with the child-friendly LG Migo phone. The service lets users perform single location requests that show the location of the Migo phone on a map made available on the Chaperone website or on the user's 3G mobile handset. • Child Zone:Allows parents to utilize the Chaperone website to construct a "zone" around locations that the child frequents. Different locations can be zoned for one time, at all times, or for up to 24 hours. When the child user, equipped with a Migo, arrives at or leaves the designated zones, the parent is alerted with a text message.

Game Download Sprint Power Vision Games allow users to choose from hundreds of single and multiplayer games from areas such as sports, action, arcade, puzzles and classic favorites. • Service: Sprint Power Vision Games • Service Provider: Sprint Nextel • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: August 2002 • Power Vision game users can play alone or compete in real-time against others in a multiplayer 3D game, even if they are clear across the country. Sprint's Power Vision Game Lobby had more than 1.3 million members as of May 2006 (Source: Sprint Nextel Press Release 5/10/2006) and is a meeting place for users to compete, post high scores and give recommendations.

Audio Download and Streaming XM Radio Mobile allows users to receive commercial-free access to audio streams of 20 XM satellite radio channels, that offer a wide range of music genres. • Service: XM Radio Mobile • Service Provider: Telus (Canada), Alltel (USA) • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: July, August 2006 • XM satellite radio music channels include: The 70s, The 80s, The 90s, America, Highway 16, Top 20 on 20, The Blend, Flight 26, XMU, XM Cafe, Top Tracks, Ethel, Big Tracks, Suite 62, Soul Street, The City, Watercolors, Bluesville, BPM and Viva.

Video Streaming, Security and Safety Iusacam provides users webcam video access to remotely monitor personal and commercial premises from a 1xEV-DO device for remote management, security and safety purposes. • Service: Iusacam • Service Provider: Sprint Nextel • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: July 2004 • With Iusacam, the video is transmitted over the CDMA2000 network on a real-time basis at 10 frames per second (fps). Any analog or digital video recorder that is connected to the Internet or private closed-circuit television network can be used to view the video.Iusacam is a perfect solution for supervising the operations of multiple locals, store chains, offices, etc. A iNetcam Mobile Gateway is necessary to view multiple live cameras, detect motion, predefine video recording periods and establish alerts. Iusacam can also be used to supervise children being cared for by a babysitter while parents are away from home.

Mobile Auctions EZ au Auctions is a public mobile auction service that allows users to post and bid in auctions using their 1xEV-DO phone. • Service: EZ au Auctions • Service Provider: KDDI • Market: Japan • Technology: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO • Introduced: January 2005 • EZ au Auctions is part of the BREW® enabled EZ Appli service. As of April 2006, EZ Appli downloads had reached 100 million.

Interactive Taxi Provides taxi passengers with “free” real-time news, sports, weather, local dining and entertainment guides, emergency and public service announcements, local maps, directions, etc. • Service: Interactive Taxi by Global Vision Interactive • Service Provider: Sprint PCS • Market: USA • Technology: CDMA2000 1X/1xEV-DO • Introduced: January 2003 • Using an interactive touch screen (with a laptop embedded into the back of the passenger seat), taxi passengers can access NBC News, Fox News, Business Week, Entertainment Tonight, E-911 services, etc. • The Interactive Taxi service collects revenue through advertising. Untouched, interactive multimedia advertising will run continuously and change every 10 seconds.
