Higher throughput is normally achieved while ATH, but can be as low as 64Kbps OTM depending on conditions. Line of Sight (LOS) connections depicted here are formed via Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) radios. These LOS connections may not be present all of the time depending on terrain or vehicle movement out of range, and vary with respect to throughput based on a number of technical / environmental factors. Once Brigade (BDE) and Battalion (BN) command post locations (Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and Tactical Command Post (TAC)) are established, the TCN deploys a large dish SATCOM antenna to achieve higher throughput and provides services to the TOC/TAC. However, the POP and SNE vehicles are free to move about the operations area. BDE and BN TOCs / TAC have hardware platforms available to host server applications. They also have TOCNET eMCSU Gateways to integrate radios onto the IP network. The Brigade TAC is often employed to establish communications and then assume control of operations while the Brigade TOC is moving, and therefore must have the ability to provide services to the Brigade in the absence of the TOC (i.e. replicated / redundant services). Every TCN, POP and SNE has a Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM). Every TCN and SNE has a WIN-T Inc 2 CNR Gateway to integrate CNR voice onto the IP network. Company Command Posts (CoCP) have Cisco Call Manager Express (CCME) in the baseband router for call processing.

  2. Quantity Breakdown by Echelon / Platform The following breakdowns are provided to assist vendors in engineering their solution to support the multiple activities and to determine pricing for production quantities. LBRR Breakdown by Echelon / Platform NIE Breakdown by Echelon / Platform Production Breakdown (1 Lot) by Echelon / Platform Server platforms are available at the Brigade TOC, Brigade TAC, Battalion TOC, each POP (x7) and each SNE (x33). Any servers employed at the Brigade TOC should be replicated at the Brigade TAC to provide redundant services to the Brigade while the TOC is moving and out of service.
