Housing and Supportive Services • HUD-VASH Program • Nation’s largest supported permanent housing initiative; combines permanent housing with case management and supportive services that promote and maintain recovery and housing stability • HUD Housing Choice vouchers • VA dedicated case management services • VISN 20 – 1090 vouchers for ‘08 & ‘09 • 685 vouchers awarded for 2010

  3. Housing and Supportive Services • Grant and Per Diem Program • Transitional housing (up to 24 months) and supportive services for homeless Veterans • Provided by Community partners • VISN 20 currently has 710 GPD Beds

  4. Housing and Supportive Services • HCHV Contracts • Contracted transitional/emergency housing and supportive services for homeless Veterans • Contracts with Community partners

  5. Core Tenants of the Housing First Model Transition individuals from homelessness directly into permanent housing without required initial participation in treatment Reduce barriers/obstacles to housing Client-driven strategy Provide wrap-around services to promote stability and self-sufficiency
