Outputs The SHCS – basics • 3,000 occupied households every year; • Unclustered Simple Random Sample of Local Authorities; • Stratified - Minimum of 80 surveys in each LA per year • 2-stage Survey: • Social Survey; 4,600 variables • Physical Survey 460 variables • Derived variables - fuel poverty bedroom standard • Perhaps a couple of hundred • Purpose: Measures the quality of people’s experience of housing against the quality of housing in Scotland.
