  2. Food I plan to eat healthy today july 1 at dinner hall to eat five Serving of vigges and four serving of fruit to maintain a healthy immune system. "Both groups are good sources of vitamins, mineral, and fiber." (Pg 172)

  3. Exericses-cardio Im going to run everday in the morning at 5:30 with Ismal, so I can be in better shape and build carido for myself and have a good heart. "The heart and lungs get stronger, allowing more blood and oxygen to circulate around the body."   (Pg 127)

  4. Optimal weight My optimal weight is 165 pounds and I'm 6 ft. tall I plan to to gain more muscle and muscle weights more then fat. So by my junior year I'll be 210 pounds of muscle, I'll start be exercies (see exerice strategies) and eating healthy food (see food strategies)on July 30 of 2010 at the local gym and eating healthy food at subway. "Weight management is a program of sensible eating and exerices habits that will keep weight at a healthy level." (Pg 198)

  5. Build Muscle Strength I plan to to bench 250 by the end of this year around dec. at the 24hr fitness gym. I'll achieve this goal by doing weight lifting, push-ups, and any other work out that will help me reach my goal, I'll go 4x's a week. "During weight (or resistance) training, muscles are challenged to contract more than they are used to doing. The muscle cells themselves become larger in response to this extra work. This growth increase the overall strength of the muscle." (Pg 128)

  6. Compromise I'm planning to build a friendship with my father, who I only visit in T.J., Mexico three times in four months and I barley talk to him. So Im going to start to spending more time with him, everytime I go to visit. "The purpose of effective communication is to prevent misunderstanding, build healthy relationship, and to express yourself. When families communication in a positive manner, the family strengthens as a unit." (Pg 420)

  7. Drug-Alcohol I am never going to drink anytime or anywhere because Its not good for you in your body it destroys your liver and makes your heart work harder, when Im older if they ask me to drink with them I will say no, because its a harmful drug and its very addictive. "Alcohol is considered a drug because it causes change in a persond phyical and emotional state." (Pg 242)

  8. Drug-Tobacco I'd plan in the future to never smoke a single cigarette anywhere, so I would pervent lung cancer and  for no one would brearth that second hand smoke that will harm others.So I won't smoke. "When a smoker lights a cigarette, he or she creates two sources of smoke."   (Pg 270)

  9. Heart Disease I plan to have a health heart by eating a healthy and exercies everyday at the gym or the dinning room so my heart won't have any problems later in my life. "The heart and lungs get stronger, allowing more blood and oxygen to circulating around the body." (Pg 127)

  10. Cancer I'm not going to smoke ever in my life, but if I do I will smoke faraway where their isn't people. But I'm really not going to smoke because it's bad for you and everbody else. By perventing that I'll not smoke. "People who use tabacoo are prone to cancers of the mouth, throat, esophagus, pancreas, and colon.  (Pg 354)

  11. Diabetes Their isn't any way to pervent diabetes because it's a gene that is pass down. But if I exerices and maintain a healthy diet everyday at any place to eat, because it will lower your changes to get them. "There is currently no way to pervent type 1 diabetes. But exercies, a healthy diet, and insulin injections as needed can allow a person to lead a healthy life. (Pg 358)

  12. Self-Esteem Im planning to raise my self-esteem by the next 3 weeks here in upward bound in my classes by respecting myself and others, trie new things, adjust to change and turn in work. "People with high self esteem respect themselfs by taken care of themselfs." (Pg 50)

  13. Sleep I will sleep 9hrs everyday in july 6 at my dorm at 10:00 in my bed, because it helps me stay awake in class and my brain will functions. "What is sleep, and why do we need it? the answer is not completey clear, but we do know that sleep is needed by the brain. Even mild sleepiness has been shownto hurt all types of performance in school, sports, and even when playing video games." (Pg 146)

  14. Stress Im planning to not stress-out on the quiz on friday at ENS class, so Im going to clam down and focus for the test and to study. "A good example of this is taking a test. Paula's algebra homework is probably a stressor for her."  (Pg 78)

  15. Great Relationships I'm trying to build a great relationship with my family like on one of my cousins party most of family was there on April 24 2009 at my aunt's back yard. My family were having a great time because we were all playing games or talk about other things. All of my family were happy to see each other, everyone was happy, I was happy. "Family relationships teach us how to love and what being loved is like. They teach us who we arem who we want to be, and what felling accepted or rejected is like." (Pg 418)

  16. Sexual Activity I've plan to not have sex until 21 or get married. So I'm going to try not to by sexual active any time and anywhere by destracting my self by doing work or spent time with family. I will not be pressured to do any sexual actived so I won't get any  STD's or have a child, until I do I'll use a condom. That's my goal. "A sexually transmitted disease (STD), is an infectious disease that is spreadexual contact. Frequently, these types of activites lead to sexual intercourse, which can result in pregnancy or infection with a sexually transmitted disease." (Pg 461)

  17. Reproductive System I will not reproduce with any girl all through high school and my first 2 yrs. in college. until I get married when I'm about 22yrs. because I don't want a child in my life yet because then I got to either married the girl or take care of the child alone so I won't be able to go to college to get a degree. The other reason is that I don't want to catch any STD's. So to protect my self is by not getting pressuered into having sex or when I do, I'll wear a condom. "Good hygiene and preventive healthcare are important for maintaining reproductive health."  (Pg 433)

  18. Goals Im going to set a goal that will last 4 weeks at SDSU upward bound. Im going to pass all my class by working hard and study for test, Im determine to achieve my goal. "If you set your goals for the future, you will have a map of where to go." (Pg 38)

  19. Positive Decision I've plan to play better in baseball in the regular season in Feb. 6 at my high school baseball team, I'll be better by pratice to throw faster, hit the ball better, and running faster with the help of my coachs. "For example lets say that your closest, friends are joining the track team. You decide to join the team too, to spend more time with your friends. Running around the track improves your physical health, dosen't it.  (Pg 33)

  20. Media Influences When I saw the commerical of the new big carl on T.V. yesterday, they said it has more meat then the big mac and compared them to prove their point. The negative impact is, it's not good for you it's not very healthy for you (see food strategies). But still people kept eating it because it has more meat then the Mcdonalds Big Mac. "The media have a significant influence on what you learn about the world." (Pg 28)

  21. Coping When I last saw my mother when I was 3yrs old I felt like I was never going to see ever again when she left me with my dad's grandma who takes care of me. I didn't know what to do, I just try to ignore it but I always feel sad when other kids have their mothers who take care them. I just try to forget about, that seems to be working so far. "Dealing with or problemsin an effective way is referred to as coping. This life skill will help you deal with difficult times and situations and with emotions such as anger, depression, and loss of a loved one." (Pg 27)
