This study examines the intricate relationships between verbs, their associated sentence patterns, and the resultant meanings in linguistic constructs. We delve into the generativist perspective, emphasizing projection accounts as posited by Chomsky, while juxtaposing it with Construction Grammar, which asserts that argument structures carry independent meanings. Through qualitative methods, we analyze various linguistic constructions to highlight these dynamics. Our findings reveal both the strengths and limitations of existing theories, paving the way for future research into the synthesis of tradition and innovation in linguistics.
