  8. Objetive • The students will write correctly the compound words after use the pictures.

  9. Definition • A compound word is a word made of two smaller words that are put together. • Compound words are formed when you join two smaller words.

  10. List of Compound Words:Butter+fly= Butterfly

  11. Have you ever see a stick of butter that flies or a fly made of butter? Of course not. Sometime the new word’s meaning is very different from what the other words mean. • Butter is substance got from milk or cream. • Fly is to move in the air with wings.

  12. Dog+house= Doghouse

  13. Doghouse is a house for a dog. • Dog is an animal. • House is a structure for human habitation.

  14. Base+ball=Baseball

  15. Base is bottom of anything. • Ball is a instrument to play.

  16. Gold+fish=Goldfish

  17. Gold is a precious metal with yellow color. • Fish is any aquatic, water-breathing vertebrate.

  19. Rain is water falling in drops from the clouds. • Drop is a fluid that falls.

  21. Flower is a plant. • Pot is a vase in which plants grow.

  31. Police is enforcement of the laws and maintained safe of the public. • Man is a human being.

  33. Birth is origin of something. • Day is a celebration.

  35. Cow is an animal. • Boy is a human being.

  37. Lady is a person being. • Bug is an insect.
