Air Quality and Noise Assessment: Emission Estimates and Environmental Impact Analysis

This report presents an assessment of air quality and noise impacts related to a mining site. Emission estimates were prepared for a "reasonable worst-case" scenario, focusing on criteria air contaminants including CO, SO2, NOx, TSP, and PM2.5, along with the deposition of metals such as Cu and Zn. The analysis, using CALPUFF and local wind data, shows that indicator thresholds for several pollutants were exceeded near the mine, particularly TSP. Despite local and reversible impacts, overall effects are evaluated as "Not significant." Noise assessments adhered to Alberta EUB guidelines, also deemed not significant.

Air Quality Conclusions • Indicator Thresholds for CO, NO2, TSP, PM2.5 exceeded on or near mine site; • TSP exceeded at Grays Bay • PAI estimated to exceed threshold and metals deposition considered “moderate” • All impacts are local and reversible (with the exception of TSP and metal deposition) • Impacts rated as “Not significant”
