The world faces critical challenges from climate change, including rising temperatures, carbon emissions, and the urgent melting of glaciers. Deforestation—such as the clear-cut jungles in Cambodia—exemplifies the threats to biodiversity and species at risk. As natural disasters like the earthquakes in Italy and flooding in Sudan demonstrate, we must enhance our disaster prediction efforts. By tackling these issues, we can also promote sustainable health care for our ageing population and work towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) for a more resilient and equitable future.
