  2. F+ F- F+ -bakteerilla on plasmidi, joka sisältää Hfr-tekijän (engl. high frequency of recombination)

  3. F+ F- Konjugaatiossa F+-bakteerista muodostuu pilus F- -bakteeriin.

  4. F+ F- Hfr-tekijän sisältävä plasmidi alkaa kopioitua F- -bakteeriin, kun plasmidin toinen juoste siirtyy siihen pilusta pitkin.

  5. F+ F- Hfr-tekijän sisältävä plasmidi alkaa kopioitua F- -bakteeriin, kun plasmidin toinen juoste siirtyy siihen pilusta pitkin.

  6. F+ F- F- -bakteeri saa Hfr-tekijän sisältävän plasmidin kopion, kun piluksen kautta siirtynyt juoste täydennetään kaksijuosteiseksi.

  7. F+ F+ Konjugaation tuloksena F- -bakteerista on tullut F+ -bakteeri.
