  2. Spring Cleaning your Jewelry! Ah, that time of the year again when everyone is up and about their feet, trying to organize, clean, or make over their homes. Including of course, making over your Jewelry Box.

Here are 3 Tips for Spring Cleaning Your Jewelry: Cleaning your Gold Jewelry: A few drops of dish detergent in a small bowl of club soda - soak for 10 minutes then scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Place in a food strainer to drain the water, rinse and wipe with a clean cloth. Air dry to make sure no moisture is left. Cleaning your Diamonds: One cup of water plus a quarter cup of ammonia in a bowl. Let it soak for 2-30 mins, scrub with a soft-bristled brush and rinse. Dry with a non-abrasive cloth.

  4. Cleaning your Pearls: This should be the first piece out of your jewelry box and last piece to get in. Wipe the outside of pearls with a damp cloth carefully so as not to get the silk thread wet. Restring your pearls when the silk thread gets worn out.
