    4. Metastasis accounts for 90% of all cancer deaths Initial presentation Late distal recurrence 5-year survival of localized cancer Pancreas: 20% Lung: 50% Esophagus: 37% Liver: 21% Stomach: 57% >90%: breast, prostate, melanoma, ovary, colon, renal Metastasis is the major cause of cancer death
