  1. Name: France StanleyBlock: 3-4 Sunday Bloody Sunday By U2

  2. U2 • U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. • They were formed in 1976. • U2 formed at Mount Temple Comprehensive School when the members were teenagers with limited musical proficiency. Within four years, they signed with Island Records and released their debut album Boy. • By the mid-1980s, they became a top international act. • U2 have released 12 studio albums. • They’ve sold more than 150 million records worldwide • Rolling Stone ranked U2 at number 22 in its list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time

  3. Sunday Bloody Sunday • "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is the opening track from U2's 1983 album, War. • The song was released as the album's third single on 11 March 1983 in Germany and the Netherlands. • One of U2's most overtly political songs

  4. Title “Sunday Bloody Sunday”; it is probably saying and talking about one of the Sunday and telling how much people were killed in that Sunday. Most likely talking about and event that happened.

  5. Paraphrase I can't believe the news today Oh, I can't close my eyes And make it go away How long... How long must we sing this song • I cant believe what happened today, I cant sleep because of the bad dreams I might have. “How long must we sing this song” how many time things like this will happened. The writer is talking about it like it is a song, so how many times does the song have to be singed to be understood and people will become bored of it so no one will hear it anymore. ( by song I mean action, so how many time will they repeat their actions)

  6. How long, how long must we sing this song? How long, how long Cause tonight We can be as one Tonight, tonight • How long we are going to keep fighting? Because tonight we can be as one.

  7. Connotation Sunday bloody Sunday song by U2 is calling to stop the fight and to give the right for people to speak. The bloody Sunday event have happened two times, so the singer is asking how many time this kind of event is going to happened and asking them to stop and to do something about it.

  8. Shift The song is a rock and roll song so it didn’t have any shift except at the very beginning and the very end.

  9. Title Sunday bloody Sunday is more of and event and less of a title for a song. The title just simply tells us what is the song “poem” is about.
