  1. PIERRE AULAS • A large number of market players put their trust in him, acknowledging his skills, his dynamism and his genuine involvement (Thierry Mugler Parfums, Azzaro, Stella Cadente Parfums, Lancaster, Christian Lacroix, Jil Sander, l’Occitane…) • Thierry Mugler • “My favourite brand, my very special partner, the one with which I am the most closely involved. I have been a part of all their projects since Mugler Cologne in 2001." • Strengths • « I love to look after the artistic and aesthetic facet of fragrances without focusing on the strictly commercial aspect. I am a kind of interpreter, a translator. I speak my clients’ and the brands’ language, thanks to my marketing studies. I understand their trade for having practised it, as well as their vocabulary and expectations. But I also speak the language of perfumers (raw ingredients, accords, olfactory trace …). My well-trained nose is acute enough to enable me to dialogue with them and to propose orientations ». • Landmarks • 1988: Degree from Sup de Co Dijon. • 1990: Product leader for Famar. • 1991-1993: Hygiene-beauty product leader for Carrefour. • 1993-1997: Body Care sales manager at Mane • 1997-2001:Fine Perfumery Key Accounts manager at Firmenich. • Since 2001: Freelance Olfactory Artistic Director. “Like a midwife, I help to bring new scents into world" Life and career Pierre obtained his scientific Bac. and followed it with a business studies course (Sup de Co Dijon). After marketing work experience with Danone and with the Shining agency, Pierre started as product leader with the French subsidiary of a large Greek company, Famar. He was only there for a year as he was very quickly noticed and poached by Carrefour, where he was tasked with product development in the Carrefour brand beauty & hygiene department. In the world of mass retailing, he learnt a lot about hard work as well as the ABC of his business. It was here that Pierre met contacts from the perfume world for the first time. A perfumer from Mane, having observed Pierre’s amazingly acute olfactory sense, suggested that he join them, so Pierre decided to enter this new world that both scared and fascinated him. At Mane, he learnt the tricks of the trade as a body care salesman. Five years later, the Swiss giant Firmenich enticed him away, offering him the job of Fine Perfumery Key Accounts manager. For four years, he handled brands such as Thierry Mugler, Lancôme, Armani, Cacharel, Burberry, Cerruti and Azzaro. This was when he met Vera Strubi, on whose advice he founded his company Art of Nose. His creed: help perfume creators to continue to create dreams. He puts at his clients’ disposal his knowledge and understanding of the international market and project development, and his specialised experience of the fragrance houses.
