  7. KIM SĄ GIGANCI?

  8. (Reuters 19 SIE 2011)- Technology company Apple is now worth as much as the 32 biggest euro zone banks. That's the stark result from a steep fall in the share price of banks including Spain's Santander, France's BNP Paribas, Germany's Deutsche Bank and Italy's Unicredit, compared to a steady rise in Apple's valuation, according to Thomson Reuters data. Earlier on Friday the DJ STOXX euro zone banks index fell 4 percent, valuing its 32 members at $340 billion. That's based on the market capitalization of their free-float shares, which for some French banks in particular is less than 100 percent. The index has crashed by a third since the start of July, hammered by fears banks will lose billions from their holdings of euro zone governmentbonds and a failure of policymakers to stop a euro zone debt crisis from spreading. The euro zone banks have lost three-quarters of their value since peaking in May 2007. In contrast, Apple's market capitalization has soared to $340 billion on the back of the success of innovative technology products like iPods, iPhones and iPads.

  13. San Francisco, September 19, 2011 Visa Inc., Visa Europe and Google today announced that Google has received a worldwide license to Visa payWave, an innovative NFC-based payment technology. Visa payWave enables consumers to make fast and secure payments at retail locations by waving their mobile phone in front of a payment terminal and is currently accepted at hundreds of thousands of retail locations worldwide. The agreement sets the stage for Visa-issuing banks worldwide to enable Visa account holders to add their credit, debit and prepaid accounts to Google Wallet -- a mobile application that turns a smart phone into a digital wallet. This is the latest effort by Visa and Google to simplify the consumer shopping experience by enabling them to make mobile payments using their mobile phones.

  14. KLIENCI O SQUARE If you’ve ever priced a traditional commercial credit card vendor account (I have for my business), you know they can be cost prohibitive, with set up fees, monthly fees, and transaction fees that don’t make sense for many small businesses let alone a private individual.  Square up does away with all that – they just charge 2.75% plus .15 of each swipe transaction which runs through their service, and they make weekly deposits to the bank account you designate.  The service also allows you the capability to key in transactions, but at a higher fee – 3.5% plus .15 per transaction.  No monthly or set up fees are involved – even the card swiper doohickey is free! Will I sign up? Possibly.  The only thing holding me back is the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” factor.  About 80% of my business is conducted through PayPal – the transaction fee they charge is about 3.3%, and I typically see the money in my account in 2-3 days. 15. Visa invests in mobile payments start-up Square A strategic investment by credit card giant Visa bolsters prospects for Square, which is led by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. April 28, 2011|By Jessica Guynn, Los Angeles Times Reporting from San Francisco — Visa Inc. is lending its clout — and some cash — to mobile payments company Square, bolstering prospects for the San Francisco start-up. The credit card giant said Wednesday that it made a strategic investment in Square, which will also include one of its executives joining the company's advisory board. http://articles.latimes.com/2011/apr/28/business/la-fi-square-20110428

  16. During the coming months, Verizon will start integrating American Express' Serve, a digital payment and commerce platform, into its phones and tablets. Unlike other initiatives, designed to let consumers pay by tapping their phone to a payment device at a store, Serve will let buyers make online purchases while on the phone. http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-20085651-94/verizon-american-express-partner-on-mobile-payments/

  17. MASTERCARD KUPUJE DATACASH ZA 520 MLN USD Expand DataCash’s platform and launch MasterCard’s new generation of e-commerce, mobile commerce and other payment products, enabling merchants to quickly accept these new forms of payments with minimal integration challenges. http://www.mastercard.com/us/company/en/newsroom/datacash_group_plc.html

  18. PAYPAL Z ONLINE DO OFFLINE In a video provided by PayPal, it shows how users will be able to walk into a store and check in to a location to unlock discounts and coupons.  http://gigaom.com/2011/09/15/paypal-pitches-its-wider-vision-for-mobile-payments/

  19. POTENCJAŁ APPLE We’ve long said that Apple has a sleeping giant in iTunes. This stems from credit card relationships with more than 150 million users. Like carrier billing, systems that utilize existing relationships and trust (read: security) have an inherent advantage. Consider the breadth and volume when you move beyond digital products to ones purchased in the physical world. In this light, Apple could be primed to tackle the $6.2 trillion in goods and services purchased in the U.S. every year.  It could also grow to include loyalty cards with retailers, and other ways to promote and reward purchase activity. http://blog.kelseygroup.com/index.php/2011/02/09/begun-the-mobile-payment-wars-have-part-iii/
