  1. Neutral Current: Ongoing Systematic Studies Ricardo Gonçalo for Alexander Kappes Henning Schnurbusch Matthias Moritz SFEW Review Meeting 18th September 2001 • Photoproduction normalisation: Alexander (98/99) + Henning (99/00, no plots yet) • QED Compton and electron energy smearing: Matthias • First inner ring and hadronization: Ricardo Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  2. Photoproduction Normalisation 1998/99 e-p Event Selection: DST-bit 12 Q2 > 120 GeV2 E(lumi-) < 2 GeV 5 < E(lumi-e) < 15 GeV ET > 30 GeV |z-vertex| < 50 cm Ecalelectron> 10 GeV Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  3. Photoproduction Normalisation 1998/99 e-p Before Ecalelectron> 10 GeV cut Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  4. Photoproduction Normalisation 1998/99 e-p tagged data Scaled tagged data Tagged data MC cross section not corrected for generator level cuts Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  5. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow Hadronic energy flow: average energy deposit per event in cells/islands, calculated in bins of polar angle/pseudo-rapidity (dE/d ),(dE/d) =  E( ,  ) / N Cells: E > 80 MeV (EMC cells) / 140 MeV (HAC cells) Islands: remaining after CorAndCut correction/backsplash cut Pre-FPCHOT bug fix Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  6. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow Pre-FPCHOT bug fix Ariadne (+CorAndCut) seems to describe the data well to first approximation Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  7. (data - Ariadne)/Ariadne; ( data - MEPS ) / MEPS ?! ? Hadronization: hadronic energy flow Ratio Plots: {(dE/d ) data - (dE/d ) MC } / (dE/d ) MC Pre-FPCHOT bug fix Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  8. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow Pre-FPCHOT bug fix 2 problems: FCAL Inner Ring and MEPS bias Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  9. Ariadne; MEPS Superposition of current jet and remnant beampipe 1st IR remnant jet Hadronization: hadronic energy flow and FCAL Inner Ring Energy flow in FCAL 10 cm radial bins FPCHOT bug fix for Ariadne only Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  10. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow and FCAL Inner Ring FPCHOT bug fix for Ariadne only  Ariadne not good in 1st IR; MEPS closer to data but still not perfect Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  11. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow and FCAL Inner Ring Energy flow in BCAL: bias in MEPS; Ariadne looks OK FPCHOT bug fix for Ariadne only Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  12. Hadronization: hadronic energy flow and FCAL Inner Ring FPCHOT bug fix for Ariadne only Review Meeting 18th September 2001

  13. W20GeV Hadronization: hadronic energy flow and FCAL Inner Ring Ariadne reproduces the data except in FCAL 1st IR This affects low y / high x / low had Need a good systematic error estimation in IR: - remove IR energy from DA calculations for had > 0.314rad ? - vary energy scale in IR ? - take cells for low had or do W cut à la 96/97 ? - Vary remnant parameters in Monte Carlo ? To do: Use all MC for better stats Redo properly with CureMyCalDoc Check Monte Carlo with remnant parameters Review Meeting 18th September 2001
