  2. Who Are We? – Our Community The field of interest of the IEEE Council on EDA spans the theory, implementation and use of EDA/CAD tools to design integrated electronic circuits and systems. This includes tools that automate all levels of the design, analysis and verification of hardware and embedded software up to and including complete working systems. • Researchers and practitioners in the EDA community are engaged in all aspects of modeling, analyzing, and optimizing designs on various levels ranging from masks to devices, digital and analog circuits, heterogeneous systems and embedded software. These problems require the development of complex algorithms to handle the very large problem sizes created by modern integrated circuits!
