  2. Costs No doubt, this is probably the most important factor most people consider when choosing a preferred moving option. While hiring a moving truck may look less expensive, the stress of handling your move yourself will warrant you spending more on packing supplies, fuel costs, toll fee, and more. Not to mention the time and energy this option will consume. However, if you opt for a professional moving company, you will most likely pay more than you would for renting a truck, but you won't have to bother with any of the stress of moving. From packing, unpacking to unloading, the professional movers will handle it.

  3. 2. Stress Let's face it; moving is fun but extremely stressful. This means you’ll need as much help as you can get to make your move as stress-free as possible. While you may be able to rent a truck and get some of your friends or family members to lend a hand, they may not be specially trained to handle fragile or large equipment. On the other hand, professional movers are trained to handle equipment and items of all nature, saving you the stress and costs of damages or accidents during the move.

  4. 3. Safety How many times have you heard that someone ended up in the ER with a bloody toe or even worse because something heavy fell, like a grand piano, while they were moving stuff? Probably, a lot of times. Accidents can occur if you move some items yourself, because you are most likely not trained to handle such complex moving tasks. However, professional movers have experience with moving large or heavy equipment. They know how to maneuver their way through tiny doorways and cramped spaces, which makes them a safer alternative. Plus, the drivers from moving companies know how to drive carefully and at the right speed to ensure that even the most fragile of your belongings arrive safe and undamaged at its destination.

  5. 4. Scale of Move The ultimate deciding factor between hiring a professional mover and renting a truck rests on the scale of your move. If the amount of stuff you need to move is large or consists of heavy or large equipment and items, the best option would be to opt for a professional moving company. However, if your move is on a small scale, you can probably handle everything on your own and renting a truck would be your best option.
