  2. Who is Armstrong? We're a small-to-medium size university library in Savannah, GA primarily using ILLiad. Odyssey is our preferred method for sending articles, followed by Article Exchange, email, ARIEL and snail mail.

  3. Why we love Article Exchange A--It’s free!B--Doesn't need proprietary software like ARIEL. C--Sends multiple file types up to 60 MB.D--Allows electronic delivery of articles to libraries who can't afford Clio, ARIEL or ILLiad, or have limits on their email systems. E--It's secure and temporary.

  4. How do we use it? Articles are scanned within Odyssey using an OptiBookPlusTek 4600 and saved as PDFs to a shared drive. Then we use the add-on in ILLiad to upload them and send an Gmail notification to the borrowing library. Doesn’t require much additional training beyond using ILLiad.

  7. Limitations of the system If using Gmail, it puts the ILLiad Transaction Number in the email instead of the ILL number. Works better in a smaller environment as a primary method of sending articles. If there is a problem it doesn't have an error message to tell you what's wrong.
