  2. Study Leave Funding • Funding for courses will not usually be a constraint BUT….. Study leave entitlement will be • Funding = £750 per GPR per annum plus the ‘core courses’, which are now funded centrally by the Deanery.

  3. What are the CORE Courses? • Summer School (4 days) • Family Planning theory course (2 or 3 days) • Minor Surgery (2 days) • Child Health Surveillance (2 or 3 days) • The Yorkshire MRCGP preparation course (2 ½ days over Friday to Sunday) • Induction and Exit courses (2 days).

  4. Planning Your Study Leave • It is easy to exceed your study leave allowance, particularly in the last 6 months. • Different GPRs have different needs and it is therefore not intended that you use this amount exactly. Some will need more and some less • It is important that you plan your courses over the entire duration of the scheme

  5. Planning Your Study Leave • Entitlement : 2 weeks study leave per year • All study leave requests must in the first instance be agreed by your current educational supervisor. It is important to gain agreement that your service commitments can be covered.

  6. Residential Courses • We hope to be able to offer a number of short residential courses • Particularly for those in hospital posts where it is difficult to come to Half Day Release • Eg Clinical Effectiveness Course in November
